91TO THOSE WHO OPPOSE WOMEN AND MEN CHATTING

Allah revives Islam through men. Their primary helpers are women. Khadija spoke to and married the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, when he was 25. Khadija was the first to accept Islam and to believe in our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. All the men believed in him afterwards. Sara was the first to believe in Ibrahim, alaihissalam, and to survive him when he was cast into the fire. (Explanation of Dalail-e-Khayrat “Kara Davut” p. 862; Mir’at-e-Kainat, Vol. 1, p. 152-153) The daughters of Shuaib, alaihissalam, were the first to believe in Musa, alaihissalam, and to marry him. (Mir’at-e-Kainat, Vol. 1, p. 192-193)

“Good advice strengthens the religion.” (Bariqa, Vol. 3, p. 359 similar; Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 1342, similar)

One can talk to women for the sake of Islam, Sharia and on condition that one has no other choice.

***

1- Narrated by Muhammad, son of Sad bin Abi Waqqas: our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said:

“Umar, radiallahu anh, asked permission from Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, to see him while there were some Quraishi women sitting with him, talking to him and asking him for more expenses, raising their voices above the voice of Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. When 'Umar asked for permission to enter, the women quickly put on their veils. Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, allowed him to enter and 'Umar came in while Allah's Apostle was smiling. 'Umar said:

‘O Prophet! May Allah always keep you smiling.’ (He meant why are you smiling) The Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said:

‘These women who have been here have roused my wonder, for as soon as they heard your voice, they quickly put on their veils.’ Umar said:

‘O Prophet! You have more right to be feared by them than I.’ Then 'Umar addressed the women saying:

‘O enemies of yourselves! Do you fear me more than you do Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam?’ They said:

‘Yes, for you are harsher and sterner than the Prophet!’ Then Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said:

‘O Ibn Al-Khattab! By He in Whose Hands my life is! Never does Satan find you going on a way, but he takes another way from yours.’” (Sahih Muslim, Vol. 7, Hadith no: 22 (2396), p. 294-295)

2- Bayhaqi said: “Narrated to us by Abu Abdullah al-Hafidh (dictating), Abu Bakr Muhammad b. Jafar al-Adami al-Qari (in Bagdad), Abdullah b. Ahmad b. Ibrahim Darwizi, Ahmad b. Nasr b. Malik al-Huzali, Ali b. Husain b. Waqid, and his father Yahya b. Aqil, Abdullah b. Abu Wafa radiallahu anh:

‘Allah’s Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, performed dhikr of Allah a great deal. He had no time for idle talk. He prolonged prayers and shortened preaching. He never used to avoid walking with slaves or widows. He did not leave them until he fulfilled their needs.’” (Shamail-e Rasul, p. 89)

3- “When Musa reached the Midian, he noticed a band of shepherds watering their sheep. He went to the spring, where he saw two young women preventing their sheep from mixing with the others. He asked:

‘Why are you waiting?’

‘We are waiting until the shepherds finish watering their sheep, then we will water ours. Our father is a great and old sheikh.’

He watered their sheep and returned to sit in the shade of the tree.

‘My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good You bestow on me!’

Bashfully, one of the women approached Musa and said:

‘My father is grateful for what you have done for us. He invites you to our home so that he may thank you personally.’ Musa welcomed this invitation and told the sheikh about his story. The sheikh said to him:

‘Fear not, you have escaped from the wrong-doers.’” (Qasas, 23-25, Omar Nasuhi Bilmen, Kur’ani Kerim Tefsiri, Vol. 5, p. 2589-2590)

4- Our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, ordered the women: “Gather in this place at this time.” When they gathered, he taught them what Allah had taught himself. [Islam Tarihi (M. Asim Koksal), Vol. 11, p. 271-272)

Read beginning from the title. Do not pay attention to anyone but the ayats and hadiths. Anyone can err, but the ayats and hadiths are never wrong. The veil is good; you may use it, but it is not good to see women who do not wear veils out of Islam. When it comes to the lion, the gender is not important. Women can do lots of things. There are no blacks or whites in Islam. A believer, be they male or female, can do the things stated in these hadiths. Do not take the opinions of those who are biased. Our religion has two sides.

5- Narrated by Aisha, radiallahu anha:

“All praise belongs to Allah, whose hearing includes all hearings. By Allah, the pleading woman came to our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. I was in the corner of the room. She was complaining about her husband. I did not hear what she said. Then, Allah revealed first ayat of Surah Mujadila:

‘Allah indeed knows the plea of her who pleads with you about her husband and complains to Allah, and Allah knows the contentions of both of you; surely Allah is Hearing, Seeing.” (Sunan Ibn Maja, Vol. 1, Hadith no: 188; Mujadila, 1-4)

***

6- Narrated by Aisha, radiallahu anha:

“…. (When I married the Prophet) my mother took me to the newly-built house where some women of the Ansar were waiting outside the door. They dressed me in a wedding-dress made from fine red-striped cloth and delivered me to the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. Nothing surprised me but that Allah's Messenger came to me in the forenoon. (The Prophet was sitting on a couch. Along with him were some men and women of the Ansar. He made me sit next to him.)” Cont. (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 10, Hadith no. 1553)

According to this hadith, our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, was sitting with men and women. Some bring hadiths that state the avoidance of non-mahram but they do not mention such hadiths.

93MISCHIEVOUS SCHOLARS

Those scholars who recite Qur’an for financial gain will be cast into the hellfire and Allah will treat them as His enemies.

1- “The likeness of those who were charged with the Taurat, then they did not observe it, is as the likeness of the ass bearing books, evil is the likeness of the people who reject the communications of Allah; and Allah does not guide the unjust people.” [Jumua, 5; Omar Nauhi Bilmen (Kur-ani Kerim Tefsiri, Vol. 8, p. 3721)]

***

2- “Surely those who conceal any part of the Book that Allah has revealed and take for it a small price, they eat nothing but fire into their bellies, and Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and they shall have a painful chastisement. My companions will intercede to the people of where they are dead and buried.” (Baqara, 174)”

If one recites the Qur’an for any price, it is nothing. If one recites it for the Hereafter, it is of the utmost value. To be given the whole world for the Qur’an is not enough, but the Hereafter is.

***

3- “And believe in what I have revealed, verifying that which is with you, and be not the first to deny it, neither take a mean price in exchange for My communications; and Me, Me alone should you fear.” (Baqara, 41)

***

4- “There are two types of scholars:

The first type are those who intend only Allah with their actions. They do not sell their knowledge and they are not jealous of their knowledge.

The second type are those who only intend worldly things. They exchange their knowledge for money. They are jealous of their knowledge. Allah Almighty will draw them in with fiery reins on the Day of Resurrection. An angel will label them shouting: “This so and so has been granted knowledge, yet he exchanged it for money. And this shouting will continue until Allah will take him away from people and from the things to which he was attached.” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 2701; Narrated in Bariqa, Vol. 3, p. 264 a similar version)

***

5- “There will come a time when common people recite the Qur’an and tenderly continue to worship. However, they will be busy with actions of the bid’ah people. (No matter how good the scholars they are, they will oppose my sunnah.) They will be led astray unexpectedly. They will earn their income by their words and knowledge. They will gain the world by employing their religion. (They will collect money for false reasons.) Those are the fellows of the one-eyed Dajjal. (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 6255)

***

6- “Imran Ibn Husayn, radiallahu anh, met a man who recited the Qur’an and asked for money afterwards. He said: “Inna lillah wa inna ilaihi raji’un” and added: I heard the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, say:

‘Whoever recites the Qur’an let him ask for his wishes from Allah. There will arise some people who will recite the Qur’an and ask for their reward in return.’” (Sihah Sita, Vol. 3, Hadith no: 434; Narrated Tirmidhi, too. Mukhtar-al Ahadith Nabawiyya, Hadith no: 1231, p. 593)

***

7- "At the end of time men will emerge who have obtained this world by the religion and they will don the skins of lambs for people with the gentleness of their tongues, sweeter than honey, while their hearts are the hearts of wolves. Allah tells them:

‘Are you ridiculing me? By My Glory and Majesty, I will send them a fitna which arises out of their circles; and all including, the good of them, will be amazed. (They will neither save themselves, nor be rid of it.)’” (Sihah Sita, Vol. 13, Hadith no: 457)

***

8- “You are living in such a time that if any of you leaves tenth of what he is ordered to perform, he is ruined. But, there will come a time upon people when any of them performs a tenth of what is ordered them, he will be saved.” (Imam Sharani “Olum-Kiyamet-Ahiret”, Hadith no: 691, p. 378; Narrated Tirmidhi, too)

In this time few perform the tenth, which includes the sunnah in ablution, prayers, worshiping etc. and all the extra deeds that our Prophet ordered.

9- “Whoever hides something from knowledge when it is asked, Allah will draw him in with fiery reins on the Day of Resurrection.” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 5260)

11- “…Abu Huraira reported the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said: ‘Whoever hides his knowledge which Allah has granted, Allah will draw him in with reins on the Day of Resurrection. (They will be fiery reins)’” (Sunan Ibn Maja, Vol. 1, Hadith no: 266)

***

12- Our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said:

“Those who recite the Qur’an at the end of time will have beautiful voices and melodies. Whoever reaches this time let them beware of the harm they will cause. They will smell like a rotten smell. They will wear head covers with stripes. At that time, no one will be ashamed of fanciness. Those who adhere to the religion will be rewarded fifty times more. The companions said:

‘Is “fifty times” according to us or them?’ The Prophet said:

‘According to you.’ (Imam Sharani “Olum-Kiyamet-Ahiret”, Hadith no: 835, p. 458; Narrated by Tirmidhi in his book of Nawader-al Usul, too)

They underestimate the commands of the Qur’an. They only value how to pronounce the letters of the Qur’an and how to make them sound. When you listen to them, you just hear a voice. If you underestimate what a commander means in his commands, you are punished. That is the case of those who recite the Qur’an, yet underestimate its commands. Their sounds are hateful. They are so disgusting that we are warned to keep away from them.

***

13- “The Qur’an is recited in the way and the dialect of Arabs. Avoid reciting it with the sounds of the People of Book! There will emerge a nation after me. They will transform the Qur’an into song and music. (The light of the Qur’an) will not go beyond their throat. Their hearts are filled with fitna. So are the hearts of those who are like them.” (Mukhtar-al Ahadith Nabawiyya, Hadith no: 860, p. 460)

***

14- “Dajjal will emerge before the last hour. There will emerge thirty or more liars before Dajjal. One of the companions asked:

‘What are their signs?’ Our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam,  said:

‘(O my companions!) They will bring a way (of religion or sharia) which you do not follow. They will change your way by bid’ah. Keep away from them when you see them.’” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 1609)

***

15- “It is a sign of the last hour that one scratches an itch with his religion as a camel scratches an itch with a tree.

Remember that I have been granted the book and alike (my sunnah). Remember that a day is close when some whose stomachs are full will sit on their couches and say: ’The Qur’an is sufficient for you. Take the haram as what it states to be haram and take the halal as what it states to be halal.’ Avoid those who speak this way. (There are some things that are haram which are not stated in the Qur’an. In this regard,) the meat of domesticated donkey is not halal. The meat of wild animals is not halal, either.” (Sihah Sita, Vol. 1, p. 359-360; Narrated Tirmdhi, too)

***

16- “Whoever receives an arrow bow in return for teaching the Qur’an, Allah will tie a bow of fire around his neck.” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 4928)

17- “There will emerge people from the east who will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throat. They will glance through the teaching of Islam as hurriedly as the arrow passes through its prey.” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 6294)

***

18- “There will emerge a people from my ummah that are harsh. They recite the Qur'an perfectly, but it will not go beyond their throat. They will glance through the teaching of Islam as hurriedly as the arrow passes through its prey. Wherever you meet them, kill them so that you will be rewarded.” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 1575)

***

19- “Our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said:

They are those whom the fire will burn.’” (Imam Sharani “Olum-Kiyamet-Ahiret”, Hadith no: 441, p. 273)

a- Those who want to be proud of the Qur’an,

b- Those who want to obtain worldly possessions from the Qur’an,

c- Those who want to recite the Qur’an only for the sake of Allah.” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 3185)

a- (Living in luxurious places), they will neglect their prayers and rush for their lust.

b- The hypocrites will study the Qur’an only by struggling with the good scholars.” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 104)

27- “There will emerge people at the end of time people who are young, yet low-minded. When they talk, they mention the best of words (i.e. the Qur’an and hadiths). They will glance through the teaching of Islam as hurriedly as the arrow passes through its prey.” (Sihah Sita, Vol. 13, p. 457)

29- Usamah bin Zaid, radiallahu anh, reported that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said:

“A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and will be cast into Hell, and his intestines will pour forth and he will go round them as a donkey goes round a millstone. The inmates of Hell will gather round him and say:

‘What has happened to you ? Were you not enjoining us to do good and forbidding us to do evil?’

He will reply:  ‘I was enjoining you to do good, but was not doing it myself; and I was forbidding you to do evil, but was doing it myself.’” (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 9, Hadith no: 1351; Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 1655)

30- Our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said:

31- “There will come a time upon people when scholars, dervishs, Sheikhs and the pious will be on fitnah (trial). There will be many mosques and students of knowledge, yet true scholars will be few.” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 6257)

97BID’AH

Acting in opposition to what our Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam performed is bid’ah. Every act is either bid’ah or Sunnah.

Hadith-e Sharif: “Take what benefits your religion.” (Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 26)

Hadith-e Sharif: “What is deemed good by believers is also deemed good by Allah almighty.” (500 Hadiths (Omer Nasuhi Bilmen), Hadith no: 357, p.294)

Such beneficial innovations that ease Islamic life in terms of hygiene, communication and transportation are known as “Bid'a hasana” which means “good innovations”. The good innovations are those innovations that are used for good. Other innovations are bad.

***

1- “Indeed, the best speech is the Speech of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, and the worst of all affairs are the newly invented matters (in religion).” (cont.) (Sihah Sita, Vol. 2, Hadith no: 60, p. 338)

***

2- “Obey Allah and obey His Messenger.” (Maeda, 92; Noor, 54; Al-e-Imran, 32)

Twenty-five of fifty-four obligatory acts are obeying Allah’s Messenger.

Those who perform bid’ah do not obey His Messenger.

***

3- “If someone looks upon those who perform bid’ah with hatred for the sake of Allah, Allah makes his heart tender and tranquil.

If someone dismisses one from the bid’ah people with hatred for the sake of Allah, Allah makes him safe from sins.

If someone disdains one from the bid’ah people, Allah raises him a hundred levels in Paradise.

If someone makes one joyful from the bid’ah people, he is showing disdain to the Qur’an which Allah revealed to Muhammad.” (Gunyat-at Talebeen, p. 248; Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 5569. Similar version)

Allah Almighty does not want to accept the deeds of those who perform bid’ah until they abandon their bid’ah.

If one makes an innovation in order to change the religion or if they take some innovation as evidence, let the curse of Allah, the angels and all humanity be upon him. No deed of such a man is acceptable.” (Gunyat-at Talebeen, p. 248; Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 5039. Similar version)

4- “Allah accepts no deeds of people who perform bid’ah, nor their prayers, fasting, zakat, pilgrimage, ‘umra, and their fighting for the sake of Allah. “I have been ordered to prostrate on seven bones,” i.e. on the forehead down to the tip of the nose, and the Prophet pointed towards his nose, both hands, both knees and the toes of both feet and ordered that clothes or hair be gathered. (Islam Fikhi (Al-Hidaya Translation), Vol. 1, p. 111; Sunan Ibn Maja, Vol. 3, Hadith no: 883-885; Sunan Abu Dawoud, Vol. 3, Hadith no: 890-892; Ramuz-al-Hadith, Hadith no: 2556; Sihah Sita, Vol. 8, Hadith no: 2609; Sunan Nasai, Vol. 1-2, Hadith no: 1093-1094)

The religious practices of our Prophet, the friends of Allah, slaves, and common people differ. Those differences would make up four or five volumes of books. I’ll give a few examples:

Night prayer was compulsory for our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. (Isra, 79) Again, all belongings taken from the enemy were halal for him. (Sahih Muslim, Vol. 5, Hadith no: 33 (1748), p. 366; Anfal, 1) He was allowed nine or eleven wives. In these regards, he was different from his ummah.

The greatest friends of Allah do not join the common people. As said, when one reaches Haqq, he becomes Haqq, as a drop becomes the sea when it is mixed in. La mevcude illallah. There is no existence but Allah in Paradise. They have reached the ultimate truth. They are  like an iron heated in the fire. If one looks at a glass of water, he cannot see the glass, only but water. Those experiencing such states do not see themselves; they only see the existence of Allah Almighty. Such awliya have uttered some words, as they were not conscious , i.e., Hallaj Mansour said: (Enel Hak) “I am Allah”, Ali, radiallahu anh, said: I do not believe in Allah if I cannot see Him”, Bayazid Bistami said: “Am I not Allah? Is My Glory the greatest?”

Sayyid Nizamoglu said:

Let you see Sayyid Saifullah

He found Allah in himself

By Allah, I have the friend,

No doubt or lie upon me.

Yunus Emre said:

I am the moon and the sun

And the Provider of sustenance for everyone.

Passing through all those levels is the state of Murshed-e Kamil. In fact, the Creator is different from His creatures. The Creator cannot be His creature and vice versa. Allah is the Creator and His servants are the creatures. Allah’s existence is separate. All have been created afterwards by Him. If one claims that he has the states we mentioned above before he attains them, then he is infidel. If one looks at the sun with tinted glasses, he can claim that the sun is red or yellow. If he looks at it without any glasses and still claims that the sun is red or yellow, then he is lying. If a heated iron claims that it is fire, then it is true; however, if a cold iron claims so, then it is lying. The friends of Allah are irons heated in the fire of Allah Almighty; in fact the iron is separate from fire. The servant is separate from Allah. The former is the created and the latter is the Creator.

Women slaves or jariya can walk around and perform prayers, covering between their naval and knees. Jum’a Prayer is not compulsory for slaves. If a slave commits a crime, his rajm punishment is lessened to half. They are subject to being bought and sold. Free men and women are not.

1- “And when you are among them and keep up the prayer for them, let a party of them stand up with you, and let them take their arms; then when they have prostrated themselves let them go to your rear, and let another party who have not prayed come forward and pray with you, and let them take their precautions and their arms; (for) those who disbelieve desire that you may be careless of your arms and your luggage, so that they may then turn upon you with a sudden united attack, and there is no blame on you, if you are annoyed with rain or if you are sick, that you lay down your arms, and take your precautions; surely Allah has prepared a disgraceful chastisement for the unbelievers.” (Nisa, 102)

Here daily prayers are not mentioned, because daily prayers are performed even on horseback. (Baqara, 239) If there is harm in doing so, the Friday Prayer can be performed individually. However, the Friday Prayer should be performed in one place and in congregation led by one imam.

(Explanation): When you keep up the prayer, divide your army into two groups. Let a party of them stand up with you, and let them take their arms; then when they have prostrated themselves let them go to your rear, and let another party who have not prayed come forward and pray with you, and let them take their precautions and their arms; when you have finished your prayer, let them perform one more rak’ah and finish their prayers themselves.

Although there may be a dangerous situation, Allah does not allow us to abandon the prayer nor to perform it in two separate places. In fact, prayer should be performed in one place. No matter if the situation is horrific, , we have to perform our prayers. If there is a situation as above, then perform it as stated above; otherwise perform it normally! Allah Almighty does not suggest that Friday prayer be performed in two different places. Today, salat is performed in at least fifty places. Which one is acceptable? Therefore, one has to perform the Final Zhuhr and Sunnah prayers.

2- Narrated Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar radiallahu anh:

“I took part in a holy battle with Allah's Messenger in Najd. We faced the enemy and arranged ourselves in rows. Then Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, stood up to lead the prayer and one party stood to pray with him while the other faced the enemy. Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, and the former party bowed and performed two prostrations. Then that party left and took the place of those who had not prayed. Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, prayed one rak’ah (with the latter) and performed two prostrations and finished his prayer. Then everyone of them bowed once and performed two prostrations individually.” (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 3, Hadith no: 510; Sunan Tirmidhi, Vol. 1, Hadith no: 562; Sunan Abu Dawoud, Vol. 4, Hadith no: 1243; Sihah Sita, Vol. 9, Hadith no: 2927) (Hanafis accept this hadith.)

Divine command is applicable to daily prayers since it is compulsory for Friday prayer.

3- Narrated by Sahl Ibn Abu Husama, radiallahu anh, [who was among those who prayed with the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, at the day of the Zat ar-Riq’a]:

Once the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, led the Friday prayer and a party of soldiers stood behind him. Another party faced the enemy. Then, he performed one rak'ah and the group with him also performed their ruku' and sujjud with him while the others were still facing the enemy. Next, the group which was with the Prophet went to face the enemy while the other group came and prayed one rak'ah and the Prophet kept standing [in prayer] as he was. Then, he performed the ruku' and the new group performed the ruku' with him and he performed the sajdah and they performed the sajdah with him. After this, the group which had gone to face the enemy came and prayed one rak'ah while the Prophet and those with him sat[in prayer]. Finally, the Prophet made taslim and both groups made the taslim with him.” (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 10, Hadith no: 1594; Sihah Sita, Vol. 9, Hadith no: 2923; Sunan Abu Dawoud, Vol. 4, Hadith no: 1237)

Imam Shafii, Hanbali and Maliki accepted this hadith. Hanafi madhab accepted the previous one.

4- “But if you are in danger, then (say your prayers) on foot or on horseback; and when you are secure, then perform dhikr of Allah, as he has taught you what you did not know.” (Baqara, 239)

There is no delay and cancellation in the commands of Allah Almighty. We say to those claiming that because of Dar-al Harb, Friday Prayer cannot be performed: Is there anything superior than the Qur’an and Hadiths in terms of finding evidence? The Qur’an and hadiths have no partners in this regard. So, Friday Prayer should be performed. It has been performed for a thousand years throughout the world including Europe, Asia and Russia
